There can be two types of sports massage- pre and post exercise sports massage. Pre exercise sports massage is a lighter form of massage that focuses on improving circulation in order to prepare muscles for exercise. Post exercise sports massage or massage that is aiming to relieve tension/ pain is a deeper form of massage and can reduce performance in the 24 hours after the massage. However, you can still exercise after having this type of sports massage, but we advise you do a thorough warm up.

Can you have a sports massage when pregnant?

You can have a sports massage when pregnant but common guidance is to wait until you have passed your first trimester.
