One of our Therapists working across our clinics in Bolton and Chorley tells us a little bit more about herself. Which massive book did she read from cover to cover when she was 10 years old??
SB Sports Massage & Rehab were delighted to be asked to support the New Zealand Netball Team during their recent trip to the UK. The New Zealand team have been competing in the Vitality International Quad Series which includes matches against England, South Africa and Australia.
We are delighted to announce that we will be working closely with Bolton Triathlon Club, supporting their members with Sports Massage, Injury Management, Injury Prevention and Exercise Rehabilitation. Our owner Sally has raced a few triathlons in her time and completed a Half Ironman in 2011 finishing 3rd behind a GB athlete and a pro. Not bad eh?
Sally Barker is aiming to give Great Britain’s Paralympians a ‘helping hand’ in their quest for glory in Rio, writes The Bolton New's Alex James. The Chorley-based sports massage therapist is one of two masseurs in the GB team whose role will be to make sure each athlete is loose, limbered and raring to go.
Yes we do...treat under 18's as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. We have a variety of younger clients who visit all of our clinics for deep tissue massage, injury advice and postural assessments. Gymnasts, waterpolo players, swimmers, cyclists and even Irish Dancers use our services. Our expertise helps these youngsters to stay fit to compete.
My road to Rio adventure started way back in February 2015 when I was shortlisted for interview for the role of Massage Therapist for Team GB at the Paralympic Games in Rio 18 months later. The process was a full day of group interviews with team interaction and presenting. I came away from this day knowing I had done my best and my Paralympic fate would be in the hands of the British Paralympic Association (BPA) selectors.
Our team of Therapists from our clinics in Lancashire were invited to Chorley Golf Club to set up a mobile clinic at their Chairman's Prize Competition. Close to 200 players signed up for this mid-week event and braved some testing conditions out on the course to complete it before the rain came in.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that SB Sports Massage & Rehabilitation will be offering support to the North West's Identity Racing Team. A young team, with 6 riders in total will receive massage support, stretching advice and recovery tips from our Therapists Sally & Danny at our Chorley & Bolton clinics.
